Everyday I want to creatively connect people, ideas, and images toward the greater good. This desire is expressed through my paintings, connections with people, and visionary leadership. All of this provides me with a way of contributing back to the world.

I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. While graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and a minor in Fine Arts, the arts have been important throughout my life. After a successful career as CEO of a healthcare foundation in Des Moines, my new life chapter and vocation involves painting while residing in Petaluma, California and St. Paul, Minnesota.

Throughout my life, I have studied under many talented artists and instructors including Carol Peek, Carol Smith Meyer, Camille Przewodek, Roos Schuring, Carrie Clayden and Robert Burridge. During my formative years in Des Moines, I was most influenced by my drawing, watercolor and pastel studies with artists Dimitar Krustev and Mary Muller.

My paintings are intended to capture the beauty (and at times the chaos) that surrounds us.I am always “Looking for the Light” whether it is in a landscape, still life, a flower, and/or children swinging in the park. (See my recently published book “Looking for Light” available via my website.
